That would happen between the flowers.
Perfume, fragrant shades, velvet on the petals, light swirls, fluffy winds - all this in fine particles which have the sense of a curve as well as of a straight line and which would contribute to a dialogue, that of the flowers and the swirls. Into the heart of the auditory corollas would slip secret words, confidences.
That would happen on the other side, with the plants, like the coming of a certain dialogue about life.
And we, distracted onlookers, captivated by games on the screen, we wouldn’t have the time to observe the phenomenon, as if it was of no importance to us, or little.
Withdrawn, turned inwards, we would have forgotten that in their pots, flowers hold memories of the forest, of mountains and valleys, of morning showers.
Even cut, bunched together, the flowers still shine, still talk amongst themselves. Fine, luminous particles visit them, tracing arabesques nearby. This choreography, this alchemy, we never see it. Not even when we look closely. But while we sleep, yes, perhaps while we sleep a touch of it may reach us if we are lucky.
And why not imagine that other instant where, leaving screens and texts behind, normality and common sense, we could suddenly be metamorphosed, question of chance maybe! The vibrating present would finally reach us as it would for a simple tulip, to talk to us without a doubt about utopia, but it would still be dreaming just to believe in it.
My current project – Flower Pots, Swirls and Other Extravagances – explores the movement of fluids in space and the premonitory vision that the flowers themselves have of this movement. Each touch of paint attempts to describe this.
